MY ROLE: Engineering leadership and AI workflow adoption

Bringing AI into the team’s work

My experience includes enabling AI within an engineering team: working through how it fits into development, how people use it, and how the team remains responsible for what it ships.

Adoption involves more than giving people access to a tool. Engineers need useful context, clear expectations, and room to learn where AI helps with the work already in front of them.

My role

I connect AI adoption with engineering leadership and day-to-day development practices. That includes identifying suitable work, helping the team structure tasks, and making review expectations explicit.

Development, investigation, testing, and documentation each require different judgment. I work through where AI assistance is useful, what context it needs, and which decisions require an engineer’s attention.

Building a shared way of working

The team needs a common understanding of how to use AI alongside its repositories, coding conventions, review process, and existing delivery practices. That includes the boundaries around information access and the checks required before changes are accepted.

I approach this as an ongoing engineering practice. Teams need to share what they learn, examine where outputs create extra review or rework, and adjust the approach as the tools and their own experience develop.

The perspective I bring

I bring both the leadership responsibility for adoption and the hands-on perspective needed to assess the resulting work. The useful question is whether the team can produce work it understands, verifies, and can maintain.

AI Enablement & Automation applies that approach to a defined workflow, with a scope, an owner, and a way to evaluate the result before extending it.
